"We can feel the impatience and the excitement"

Initially scheduled for June, SADECC, the only French trade show entirely dedicated to the kitchen and home equipment market, will finally take place from 1er to 4 October 2021 in the magnificent Pavilion 6 of the Paris Porte de Versailles exhibition centre. Eglantyne Verriès, its director, lifts the veil on an edition that is sure to be memorable.

L'Officiel des Cuisinistes - You made the decision to shift the SADECC from June to October. Why?
Eglantyne Verriès - This decision was not easy to take. But when we saw the evolution of the health situation at the beginning of the year, we acted quickly. As early as March, all the exhibitors who had committed themselves to participating in SADECC 2021 in June were informed of our desire to postpone the event. We had to be as transparent as possible with them. Our objective has always been to hold the show in a favourable context, both for exhibitors and visitors. Moving it to the autumn, and more precisely from 1 October to 4 October, is ideal. We are happy to say that SADECC will be the first national and even European event dedicated to the fitted kitchen market to be held since the crisis emerged. We can feel the impatience and the enthusiasm of the exhibitors who have all confirmed their presence. Since the new dates were announced, we have also been approached by many manufacturers who are keen to commit.

O.C. - Exchanges have taken place with the organisers of the Esprit Meuble show which will be held at the end of the year. For what reasons did you not reach an agreement for the two fairs to take place simultaneously?
er to 4 October, we are enabling the kitchen industry, both exhibitors and visitors, to benefit from a trade fair entirely dedicated to their profession. And we are proud that SADECC is the starting point for the return of physical events in France and Europe for the furniture sector, while obviously respecting the health protocol set up with the Viparis teams. We can feel that all the teams are mobilised to get the events back on track.

O.C. - The theme of SADECC 2021 will be: "Shape your future". Can you explain what it means?
E.V. - Behind this theme, there are all the challenges of the kitchen trade. Obviously, by coming to SADECC, visitors will finally be able to discover and touch new products in all the areas that structure their daily activity: furniture, household appliances, worktops, equipment and accessories... They will also be able to meet and exchange with the main software suppliers and many service providers. But the SADECC also goes beyond the kitchen, as many exhibitors specialising in storage and the bathroom will be present. But not only! The kitchen is an atmosphere, stools, tables and chairs, lighting and decoration. As we know, the future of the kitchen specialist also depends on his ability to develop a complementary offer. In fact, each visitor will have all the cards in hand to select their new suppliers. This theme also integrates a business dimension. We want the 2021 edition to be an event where visitors can ask themselves questions about the future of their business, but also about their way of addressing the end customer. In this respect, the SADECC will be forward-looking and will launch useful avenues of reflection for the profession through various events.

O.C. - When you speak of animations, you are thinking in particular of the "HUB by L'Officiel des Cuisinistes"?
E.V - There will indeed be the "Hub by L'Officiel des Cuisinistes", but also the SADECC 2021-2022 Trophies, which are very much appreciated by exhibitors, and many convivial events that will punctuate our programme. We will communicate all the details very soon.

O.C. - Can you explain precisely what the "Hub by L'Officiel des Cuisinistes" will consist of?
E.V. - We are part of the same group. As the leading magazine in the profession, it is only natural that L'Officiel des Cuisinistes should benefit from the visibility it enjoys at the SADECC. The "Hub by L'Officiel des Cuisinistes" was originally an idea that came about in 2019. As the SADECC takes place every two years, we wanted to create a platform for exchange between each edition that would allow the players in the trade to get together to discuss various very practical issues. The first "Hub by L'Officiel des Cuisinistes" was to take place in 2020. Due to the health situation, it was impossible to set it up. We therefore decided that the SADECC would be the ideal showcase to officially launch this brand and its concept. For four days, several key witnesses will be on stage to discuss very concrete topics with you. Visitors will also be able to ask questions or share their thoughts.

O.C. - Beyond the dates, you have also announced that SADECC will take place in the brand new Pavilion 6 of the Parc des Expositions de Paris de Versailles and no longer in Pavilion 7.1. This is not insignificant. Can you explain why?
E.V. - When we exchanged with Viparis to find new dates, we were offered this Pavilion 6. We didn't hesitate for a second. This hall is simply exceptional. As soon as you enter, the canopy designed by Jean Nouvel illustrates the extreme modernity of the hall. Inside, the 15,000 m2 of exhibition space is not obstructed by the various pillars that made the exhibition layout in Hall 7.1 complex. The equipment in Pavilion 6 is ultra-modern, and exhibitors will be able to benefit from state-of-the-art meeting rooms to organise conventions if they wish. I would like to take this opportunity to announce that the SNEC will be holding its General Assembly here. Exhibitors and visitors will also be able to go to the roof of the Hall to enjoy the Perch, a very nice restaurant-bar. In short, Pavilion 6 will be an integral part of the success of SADECC 2021, which will be one of the first exhibitions to be held there, since it was inaugurated just before the health crisis.

O.C. - To conclude, a message to our readers?
E.V. - We are fully aware that the entire profession is eager to be able to meet in "real life". The SADECC will be the ideal place for this!
